Welcome to the beginning of yet another new chapter in the Wunjo story. After a rather fruitful trip to Musikmesse, we are delighted to introduce a number of new exclusive dealerships to the shop, with the Swedish guitar masters Hagstrom amongst the new arrivals. We now have access to the entire range of these stouthearted instruments, and we kick off the list with this big fat Jazzer, the HJ-600. Singlecut, deep body, two humbuckers, and a price to set it apart from its Gretsch, Gibson and Guild peers.
Not forgetting that the guitars you see here so far on this page are the first we have received at the time of writing. Hagstrom have a big range of guitars which you can look at on their website www.hagstrom-guitars.co.uk. The next step down from the above HJ600, this 500's body is constructed entirely from Maple, as opposed to the above 600 which has a ply spruce top. It's the little details that make all the difference you see.
SALE PRICE: WAS £609, NOW £495!!! Ah, the quintessential 'no-frills' Jazz guitar. Well, any Jazz afficionado will probably write in and argue that a proper Jazz guitar does not have a pickup at all! Well, never mind what they said on the forum, us forward thinkers here at Wunjo agree with Hagstrom, that this guitar leaves nothing to be desired except more time to play! All mahogany body construction with a custom floating neck pickup... time to get widdling!
Just like the Viking below, except with all the bling you'd expect on a guitar that has 'Deluxe' in the title. The bling I refer to is the flame maple top and the mother-of-pearl block inlays in the neck. Otherwise it's pretty much all the same including the HJ-50 Humbucking pickups. Hagstrom call it their 'most sought after hollowbody'. Come down to Wunjo to see why, or just to violently disagree.
It looks a bit like a Les Paul. However the Super Swede is no cheap copy. Its long scale neck (25.5") and coil tapped humbuckers ensure that it stands roughly a barge pole's length from the old classic, making itself a classic in its own right. Hagstrom hail it 'a beauty of a guitar that will surprise and excite you'. You'd think you might see them floating around on the internet dating websites... Probably better just to buy one from us I would have thought.
Like most guitars in the Hagstrom range, the Deluxe 'F' goes the extra mile from being just a copy of something else. With a chambered bass side on the solid mahogany body, a glittery gold sparkle finish (among a range of other finishes) and coil tapped humbuckers, the D2F is really out there in a class of its own. Definitely a guitar you can take home to mum.
The Vikings are invading again! And apparently, the first time round they took no prisoners. Scary stuff! This time however, I'm sure they'll be a bit more welcome, especially when there this good at this price. A sturdy competitor for the Epiphone Sheraton and the raft of copies there-in, the Hagstrom is very much NOT just a copy of the afore-mentioned semi-acoustic(s), and scores highly for individualism. And not a horned helmet in sight.
Of all the Les Paul copies in the world, the Hagstrom has to be one of the most Swedish. It is also one of the best, up there with the best of them for style and individualism, and fantastic value for money. We are stocking them from new in various colours, so feel free if you want to order one, just give us a call. You can see the full range of Hagstrom guitars by checking out their website at www.hagstromguitars.com.
Another Classic Hagstrom guitar made and re-badged for the UK market in the swinging 60s. Similar to the one above, this one features a Sputnik trem arm and does not have the bolted plastic top section on the body with 'Cheesgrater' scratch plate design. This places it somewhere around 1964 or 1965. Same colour though, so you can see the continuity between models from this to the Chessegrater. Awfully nice of Hagstrom to send us their wares. Years later, the Swedish would also help us out with a National football coach. I think we prefered the guitars though...
We like our shiny new range of Hagstrom guitars, but all the same, we're not going to turn away a nice second hand one, which is still shiny none-the-less. Indeed, this is not only an example of how reliable a Hagstrom guitar can be, but also a reminder that Hagstrom offer left-handed versions of m6st of their range for those with a leaning to port. An absolute bargain this one, and fully guaranteed.
