Here's the next beautiful creation from the Tokai factory of Japan, and yet another reminder of why Gibson got (and are still getting) quite scared of the name Tokai. This guitar is very very good, and more than certainly an obviouls alternative to what many are starting to see as the over-priced Gibson option. So while Gibson have reduced their dealerships down to 35, thus pushing the prices up and the availablility of their guitars down, Tokai are cashing in by dealing with more shops, (like us), making great guitars readily available at realistic prices.
Back to what they do best, in the place they do it best (hope no-one quotes that out of context!) here is a made in Japan Tokai Gibson cover, a copy of the ever popular Gibson Les Paul Junior containing some very lovely sounding P-90 pickups. Part of a new range we have just got in at Wunjo Guitars, the prices are competitive, certainly with the modern Gibson equivalents, so certainly worth a very good look. Hard Case included.
Another Jazz guitar, this time the Zeppelin sized FA-93 heavily influenced not by Gibson would you believe, but seemingly more by Gretsch. So now the arguements begin as to who makes better Jazz guitars out of Gibson and Gretsch. At which point Mr Tokai steps in and quietly asserts that neither of them are as good as his creations, so there. We'll let you make your own minds up, so come down and have a play on one of these modern cult classics.
The logical progression from the above Les Paul Junior is this single P-90 pickup SG Jnr also from the MIJ range with a hard case included. By now you should have worked out that whatever gets produced by the great Tokai company, we can have in stock here at Wunjo. Literally anything, just ask. We can't always get really mint second hand Japanese made instruments however, which means that this Love Rock Les Paul is something to get mildly excited about, more excited than you'd get about a new one that is, principally because of the price tag - there's a good couple of hundred pounds to be saved here! This Cherry Burst had been very lightly played and comes complete with a hard case.
Bringing back that Breezy Sound, this is one of the new breed of Japanese made Tokai guitars, and let me tell you, it keeps the tradition alive and well in fine style. The bling is as good as the sing, and the tone you get out of this beauty is as good is not better than the 'real thing'... like I said, the tradition is alive and well. Vintage fixtures and fittings, nice bits of wood, shiny glossy neck with a rosewood board, AND cheaper than a USA standard Fender. It's a no brainer! Hard case included.
IN addition to the famous Les Paul copies you see around this entry, Tokai have also inserted a very nice Strat copy into the range as you see here. The playability is all there, as is the tone, but they've managed to make it look like sonething other than a Fender, which is most commendable since many other budget manufacturers either wouldn't bother, or would be too scared to try. Nothing to be scared of here though, so come and see for yourself.
Nestled in there in the everyday range of Les Pauls, SGs and 335s, here is a lovely old Jazzer model. Why is whenever I write about a jazz guitar, I always seem to adjectify by saying the words 'lovely old'? This guitar is not new of course, it's old, although it is certainly lovely, and an upholder of the ever growing reputation Tokai have earned.
A further addition to the Tokai range of re-issue guitars. We've had period versions of the Talbo in the shop before so I can vouch for the efficacy of this re-issue. This has been bestowed with three single coil pickups which amount to a lightweight jangly cutting tone, and a stylish guitar which won't put your back out of joint.
