PRICES ON THE UP - STANBY FOR UPDATES!!! Welcome to the Blueridge page! Wunjo Guitars are now major stockists of the Blueridge range of Flat-top guitars, and very nice to have them in in is too. Some people go on and on about Martins being the best, especially since they're only made in the USA. Or at least that's what we're led to believe... But for those tired of paying for a name and want something a bit fresher with a bit of the mojo the aforementioned brand has perhaps lost, there is Blueridge, the guitar maker that 'has taken America by storm'. They are great guitars, if a little Gary Lineker like with their orangy spruce tops, and produce strong warm tones. You have to try one of course, but you'll see what I'm talking about. This guitar, the BR-163 is first up in our current range of stock. An Indian rosewood back and sided cutaway 000-size electro acoustic. High end, expensive, but extremely good value for money. Case included. Please read on!
PRICE UPDATED. Just like all the other acoustic guitar makers, Blueridge have felt the need to show off their silky guitar-making skills and produce something 'a bit posh'. This is an all solid 000 size with rosewood back and sides and half a reef's worth of pretty sea shells inlaid into the body. Joking aside, it is a damn fine guitar and honestly priced to compete with Martin. Part of our range of Blueridge guitars being stocked from new. Hard case included.
PRICE UPDATED. Receiver of rave reviews all over the guitar world, Blueridge, like Hagstrom and Airline, are an old company with a reputation for fine instruments who are making a bit of a comeback with a batch of classic reissues. And as Total guitar said, 'they really do make them like they used to!'. We are stocking Blueridge from new, so if there's none in the shop, please don't panic and sweat, we'll get you another one. THe BG-140 is all solid spruce and mahogany.
PRICE UPDATED. For all those among you you have ever suffered at the hands of an unruly mic stand, banging your strings or strumming hand against the mic until you look up to see empty seats where there were previously excited and attentive punters, you'll know how nice it is to have an acoustic with a pickup in it. Blueridge know this, and so have sensibly put a couple in their range. The BR-60CE with rosewood back and sides and a cutaway is the first of these mid-range electro models, in dreadnought size.
PRICE UPDATED Just so we don't start thinking all Blueridge can do is Gary Lineker tan and dark sunburst, here's a nice alternative finish on this dreadnought. Not only this, but instead of the usual spruce top, Blueridge have gone for the slightly more exotic sounding Adirondack wood to accompany the mahogany back and sides. fantastic price, alot of guitar for your money.
PRICE UPDATED Another exciting electro-acoustic nestled cosily in the mid-range, this model also has rosewood back and sides, albeit in 000-sized format. Ideal for fingerpickers with a lovely bright but balanced tone.
Next in line, an 000-sized 'contemporary' series acoustic all solid with rosewood back and sides. By the way, if you're wondering how to work out what all the funny model numbering means, then listen very carefully, I shall say this only once: The Blueridge numbering system is very logical. Take BR-73 for example. The first digit denotes the series (1 for Historic, 2 for Pre-war, and the Contemporary models have this digit missed off). The second digit (or first digit if the model is Contemporary as it is here with the BR-73!) indicates the style (lower numbers for the simpler styles, 8 for the fanciest). The last digit is a 0 or a 3. 0 is for D style (dreadnought, a larger bodied guitar) and 3 is for the OOO (a small bodied guitar). So there you go, everyday's a school day.
PRICE UPDATED. A slightly lower spec, but just as lovely a guitar, in a sort of your-grandad-just-had-his-hair-cut-and-bought-a-new-Sunday-suit kinda way. It will take a little while before this guitar gives you its best, but you've always got that to look forward to as you enjoy an already rocking round-shouldered dreadnought with Mahogany back and sides into the wee small hours.
PRICE UPDATED Another 000-sized flat-top in the 'contemporary' range, but alot more affordable than some of those higher up there, so ideal if you're looking for that next step up from the Argos guitar you were given three Christmases ago, or even a second guitar with which to hit the open mic scene. Either way, a good solid reliable model good for fingerpicking, at a competetive price.
And here's another one with a lovely bit of Adirondack. Part of the Contemporary Series which aswell as hours of pure beaming guitar playing pleasure, offers outstanding value for money with authentic forward X bracing, solid Sitka spruce top and carved mahogany low profile neck.
