Gurian is a bit of a legend that not many people outside the guitar playing suburbs of Geeksville will know of. (Nb. This writer lives in another part of that town called Metaphor Corner). Inaugaurated in New York by David Gurian in the late sixties, the name has achieved cult status thanks mainly, it could be assumed, to the fact that the company no longer exists, as well as the fact that the guitars themselves were (and still are) so highly revered. For example, some well known names who are known for having played Gurian's include Jackson Browne, Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, and Paul Simon, who, it is said, still treasures a custom wide-neck Size 3 Gurian made for him in the early '70s. Here is a rare example of one such guitar, The JM (Jumbo Mahogany) model, we are very pleased to have in at Wunjo at the moment. It's certainly enjoyed a busy lifestyle, but it's a testimony to, well, that which everyone harps on about. A chance to own a bit of high end guitar obscurity then, and a very nice one at that. Case included.
