SOLD!!! A classic from National, surviving in original condition to make for a mouth watering proposition for collectors of National and other American resonator guitars, and indeed players of roots, blues, slide and Dire Straits tribute acts. This guitar is a monster Triolian, well preserved with original cone and complete with a hard case. They're still being made to this day, but you can't beat what there's no shame in calling 'the real thing'. Hard case included.
There's nothing quite like an all wooden Dobro resonator to get you all excited about guitar playing again, except perhaps an all wooden Dobro resonator that's been pimped with a bad-ass mofo pickup, like this F-60 here. SOLD!!! One of the best known all of the more recent Dobro models, copied by Gibson, loved by pretty much everyone, the Hound Dog is a good honest f-hole wooden bodied resonator. This particular piece is nothing short of minty mint, and features a particularly striking and beautful selection of stained maple and an unusually branded logo on the headstock. This piece also contains a fitted pickup installed discreetly under the bridge. Unlike one or two other manufacturers who have lost their way somewhat over the last few years, Dobro are still producing instruments of genuine quailty, and here's a fine example. From the range of resonators offered up by legends to be, Recording King, this is the Tricone RM-995-3 with round neck (as opposed to the RM-991S which is the square neck version). This tricone is made from nickel-plated bell brass and features a screen coverplate and T-shaped bridge with an ebony and maple saddle. This is a very beautiful looking instrument. It's been engraved to resemble one of the original National Style-4 resos which at the time, in the 30s, were hand engraved with a very similar design to what you see here. Whilst this Supro example is a teeny bit crude by comparison, you can't blame them for trying, and indeed, they should be congratulated for upholding the fine vintage traditions of reso making, and upholding the fine name of Supro as a brand that doen't forget where guitars came from. Not only does ths reso look great, it's also very versatile and contains a pickup, which means you can take it anywhere and you'll certainly be heard as well as seen.
