You don't have to be a Martin to be my dreadnought. Of course, there's so many companies out there turning out brilliant vintage guitars, but Guild have been around turning out brilliant guitars for quite a long time, so by the time Richie Havens stepped onto the stage at Woodstock and upset the Martin and Gibson people, Guild had already established a pretty sound reputation (pardon the pun). Here's a Guild D-50, a really really good one made towards the beginning of the 80s. I've just had a little play on it before writing this caption, and if it hadn't been for the fact I'm at work, it would have turned into a big play. It's a real pleasure to pick away on. Even with the fleshy sound of fingerstyle, there's plenty of brightness and top end to balance out the low end and overall volume. Not to mention the fact that the neck is so nice to wrap your left hand around, that you won't want to put it down again. A slight bit of finish checking on the top is the only real sign of age and use on this clean and original USA Guild. Sold complete with a hard case.
