Traditionally, Hofner's musical instruments have above all else been extremely highly affordable things, all with plenty of style and personality thrown in. The Galaxie was a model better know as a six string solid body guitar, and as you'll read, or have already read further up the Hofner bass page, was never really done in 4 string form, or at least it was, but it had a different name (answers on a postcard please!). The modern day Galaxie Bass is still very affordable at a mere quarter of a grand, and still very cool in ways in which only Hofner designers ever really knew (or know) how. Asyou can see from our pictures here, the Galaxie now comes in a range of colours including orange and turquoise, as you see here, as well as white. It's got a lovely range of tones produced through the two single coils.
