WHen Chet Atkins ended his first marriage with Gretsch, it was because he was already being wooed by Gibson, and eventually, the Nashville giants started to build guitars with the Chet endorsement, some of which, like the Tennessean, ended up with similar names as the Gretsch predecessors. It wasn't until the end of the 80s of course, so none of these Gibson Chets will have any of the vintage kudos that the Gretsches do for quite a while, but still, they're absolutely beautiful guitars, made to the very highest of Gibson's standards, and a pleasure to play. This Country Gentleman was made at the beginning of the 90s, and features a thinline body with gold plated humbuckers that produces a weight and tone that will give you that certain sound. You know, that certain sound. You can see what I mean just by looking at it, but if you don't know what I mean, have a listen to Mr Guitar. This piece is sold complete with the original hard case.
