Now here's a very pretty little thing. Hofner guitars often are though, even ones that were made after the golden period in the late 50s/early 60s as this one is. This is a Model 171, which in laymans terms is a Thinline Telecaster copy. They've gone to great lengths to make it look just like the real thing, down to the humbucker pickups (as you'd see on a Deluxe) done in the Seth Lover style with offset rows of screws. Of course, compared to the real thing, this is quite different, much thinner and lighter with a rasping tone that will rattle your fillings just enough to let your neighbours know what's happening. You wouldn't want it to sound like a Fender, that would be boring, and you'd buy a Fender if you wanted that. Also, you wouldn't want it to cost as much as a Fender, and happily, the HOfner delivers on that count too. Gorgeous finish and mint chrome hardware finish this perfect picture off. 70s Hofner Tele copy. It is what it is. Hard case included.
