If there's any of you out there who already knows what Padauk is, then you deserve some sort of recognition for expertise in exotic woods, or at the very least, you need a new anorak. In fact, Padauk is a relative of our old friend the Rosewood, albeit slightly less 'decorative', or so they say. Either way, it's got all the ingredients to be a fabulous tone wood, and forms the main feature - the carved top - on this beautiful Crosbie Lapsteel. Crosbie Lapsteels are handmade in Florida USA, and along with their adornment of beautiful and exotic tone woods, they also contain a pair of Kent Armstrong humbucking pickups which all comes together and results in a serious musical instrument.
