Goldtone LS6 (Oahu Tonemaster)

One of the favourite things for modern day manufactures to do, is to dig up some of the classic models from the past and remake them under their own name or in their own style, or both. Some companies such as Eastwood base their whole manifesto on this, but others just do the odd bits and pieces. Goldtone have unashamedly taken a classic Oahu lapsteel here and made it their own. The original was called the Tonemaster, but Goldtone have modestly entitled theirs the LS-6. Features include a bone nut, square-covered style tuners, ash tray cover, and tobacco brown two-tone finish, and also included in this loevyl package is a hard case. Plug in and fire up the single coil soapbar pickup and you'll be transported back to the 50s on a beach somewhere in Hawaii, with a grass skirt and a garland of Hibiscus... and then someone taps you on the shoulder to say the shop is closing.
