All great things must come to an end... and then begin again. By 1996, the Gibson company had had plenty of practice at their new undertaking, that being building Dobro resonators that aspired to match the great instruments produced by the company from the 30s onwards. What we have here is a square necked Dobro Model 60 DS, made in 1996 when Gibson were still keen to impress the reso buying world. The Model 60 is a smallish wooden bodied reso that is as solid in build as it is in tone. Sit down with this and a tone bar, enjoy, savour, and make sure you've put by at least an hour for the playing, and then another hour for working out how to work the finance. It's got a tremendous, full tone, and whilst I won't go as far as to say it can compare with the older Dobros, it certainly packs a punch in its own right. Very nice to play aswell, and equally nice to look at with the gloss top a nice little touch alongside the matt finish on the rest of the body. Sold with the factory hard case, this is a nice little deal on a nice little guitar if you're looking to get into lap playing.
