Ibanez AS153-AYS

£869.00 Available from Supplier Delivery 3 to 5 days

If you’re into your old Japanese guitars (like I am), you’ll remember an old Ibanez called the Artist. This magnificent thing came in both solid body form (very heavy) and hollow body form (less heavy but still...), and is getting harder to find. Luckily for the entire world, Ibanez has released a spiritual successor to this most underrated of guitars as part of the Artstar series. The higher end of the Artcores, this AS153-AYS is not messing about, and in the tradition of higher-end Japanese instruments, it’s quite eye-catching. Built from flamed maple top, back and sides, the AS-153 has a 3-piece mahogany/maple set neck, topped with an ebony fretboard, which houses 22 medium frets and pearl/abalone block fingerboard inlays. Just so you know Ibanez isn’t messing about, it’s fitted with a pair of Super 58 humbuckers, themselves descended from the original Super 80 ‘Flying Fingers’ pickups (which are ace), with the neck pickup wired to a separate 3-way toggle. Bone-saddled and with an ART-1 bridge and Quick Change III tailpiece, this attractive old so-and-so is ready to get right down, wherever you need to go! The Ibanez AS153-AYS is available at Wunjos with a 3 year warranty and gig bag as standard. Please call for availability.
