You can tell by the colour that Fender have chosen for this guitar that it was once popular with the surf dudes of the music world. The Jazzmaster was a guitar that, as the name suggests, was primarily intended for use by those highly esteemed gentlemen musicians in the local jazz clubs who perhaps fancied a bolt-neck guitar to play their inversions on. But it was never going to catch on in that world, so Fender were effectively saved by the waves. This is the Fender '60s Jazzmaster Lacquer, finished in Surf Green, a doffing of the cap from Fender to the surf revolution that adopted the Jazzmaster as its own. Not just any old finish though, this is a Nitrocellulose finish, a lighter substance that allows the guitar to vibrate with ease during playing, and so improving the overall tone of the instrument. This is why the vintage ones, finished in 'nitro', are so sought after. While the American Jazzmasters are a bit pricey, these form the Classic Player series are much more affordable, even with some American Vintage Pickups installed. Available new at Wunjos. Three-year warranty included.
