Vintage cool? Death In Vegas fan? Here, have a vintage Hofner Colorama II! Built between 1963 and 1965, these guitars have a special place in instrumental history, as they’re the final versions of the Colorama series. Unlike its predecessors, the Colorama II wasn’t a laminated electric, and instead, the body was made from solid wood. Originally costing 29 Guineas in 1964, the II has a Maple neck topped with a Rosewood fingerboard, and sports the same lengthy, mega-60s headstock as its forebears. Those tuners really are incredible, with ornate tops that are the heavy business - don’t they make modern units look so tame? Fitted with a pair of ‘Diamond Logo’ staple-top Hofner pickups, the Colorama has two sets of independent Volume and Tone controls without a selection switch, which means you’ll have to *gasp* use the tone control (we won’t tell anyone). Bequeathed with a solid metal bridge and mini-trapeze tailpiece, this is an immensely cool instrument with more character than your whole family, so get down and try it out before it finds its way into some cool London recording studio. Protected by a three-year warranty with our colourful techs, this Hofner Colorama II is available at Wunjos with a gig bag as standard.
