Framus Electra Lapsteel (1950s)

£495.00 In Stock. Next Day Delivery order before 3pm

Infrequently spotted these days, this vintage Framus Electra Lap Steel is a proper old sort. Framus are known in the modern era as suppliers of heavy-duty instruments to the likes of Phil X from Bon Jovi and Leland Sklar, but in the 1950's they were quite the company to get your lap steel from. This completely original and genuinely striking piece looks like it might have come from ancient Egypt, but it's German, and finished in a colour known to Framus as 'Black Rose', after the archtop of the same name. With a red pearloid headstock and vast block inlays on its bound Ebony fretboard, this magic wedge has a character all its own. The pickup is controlled by a single volume knob, and the signal is sent out to a pair of leads which combine to form a proper olde-worlde sound you'll never get tired of hearing. On the back of the headstock are two 3-in-a-line open-gear strips of tuning magnificence, which have kept a steady ship from the 1950's til the present day. This glorious lap steel was discontinued in the '60s and as a result is pretty thin on the ground, so come and check it out before it gets snaffled! Protected by a three year warranty with our ancient techs, this vintage Framus Electra Lap Steel is available at Wunjos with a gig bag as standard.
