Epiphone FT 79 Texan (1965)

£3395.00 In Stock. Next Day Delivery order before 3pm

Yeehaw and by golly it’s a vintage 1965 Epiphone FT-79 Texan! Made famous for being utilised to great effect on the Beatles’ ‘Yesterday’ (which also dates to 1965), the original Texan debuted through Epiphone in 1942, with its first run lasting until 1970. Although the material used to craft this model changed over the years, it’s kept that gratifying, slope-shouldered body, resulting in a highly distinctive acoustic. The 1965 version was built around a solid Sitka Spruce top with solid Mahogany back and sides, paired with a Mahogany neck and rhombus inlays. That luxuriously long headstock, so redolent of Epiphone at the time, still houses all of its original tuners and nut, and leads down to the Rosewood adjustable bridge which still houses its original saddle. Because these guitars operate over a 25.5” scale length, they have a tremendous tension for fingerstyle, and the natural strumability of the Texan will have you churning out material like a paperback writer. For a guitar that’s clearly been loved and is now in its 55th year, it looks the ticket (to ride), and the wear around the soundhole and neck points to how much enjoyment it’s given its previous owner. This truly is a great acoustic, so if you’re looking for a characterful piece you can really play that has great, great stories to tell, look no further! Protected by a three-year warranty with our howdy-doody techs, this 1965 Epiphone FT-79 Texan is available at Wunjos with a hard case as standard.
