Hagstrom Futurama Bass

£895.00 Next Day if ordered before 3pm

While it's generally accepted that instruments built by the Americans and the Japanese occupy the consciousness of the majority of musicians, Europe has produced some incredibly striking guitars. Hagstrom are Sweden's gift to the electric world, and aside from being favoured by The King (Elvis, not the king of Sweden), they've got a style and flair all their own, bits of which crop up in modern companies. That golden grill cloth would feature on the Lindert Model T, as would the bolted-down top, and these very 60's basses have a good thwomp from the two single coils. Controlled by a quaint switch setup, the Futurama has an on/off for each pickup, the tone, and indeed the whole instrument, all operating under the watchful eye of the master volume. The rosewood fingerboard pairs nicely with the matching bridge, an incredibly 60's feature which adds that little bit of extra authenticity to your sound. After all, if you want to sound like the past, get a bass from the past! Although a lot of these wonderful basses have had hard lives, this one has not, and whoever had it before has taken superb care of it. Even the headstock decal that proudly proclaims it was made in Sweden remains unsullied, so rest assured this will go wherever you want it to without complaint. The marvelously industrial string tree keeps everything in check, and to cancel any splay angle over the headstock, the previous owner has gone round the pegs the other way, in case you find that an odd thing! Brilliantly preserved and aching for action, this 1963 Hagstrom Futurama is available at Wunjos with a 2 year warranty and a gig bag as standard.
