A true game-changer, the Gretsch G5230T is part of the Electromatic revolution that showed players that they had other options outside of the norm. A part-chambered, endlessly-diverse instrument that could rock and roll, it started cropping up everywhere, and rightly so - this is a very, very fine guitar indeed. Based on the famous Jet shape, the G5230T is built around a bound and chambered Mahogany body with white/black purfling, capped by a Laminated Maple top. Beautifully paired with a Thin U-shaped Mahogany neck and operating over a 24.6” scale, this modern marvel has 22 Medium Jumbo frets installed into its bound Black Walnut fingerboard, which is furnished with Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail inlays. Nestled in the body are a pair of Black Top Filter’Tron pickups, wired through a pair of independent Volume controls with a master Tone and a true-Gretsch-style master Volume on the treble horn. This pairing gives a huge range of sounds from strident chime to wiry rasping, and if you like the note separation of a single coil with the meat of a humbucker, this is an excellent middle ground. Down at the tailpiece you’ll find a licensed Bigsby B5 vibrato, granting you access to the world of wobble frequented by so many great Gretsch players. A brilliant unit for adding shimmering, slithery drama to your notes and lines, this is as great a unit for such an endeavour as you could possibly find, so come to Wunjo
