Yamaha SB-75

£695.00

Good luck finding one of these; this vintage 1975 Yamaha SB-75 is rare as hens teeth. Built during The Great Builders' halcyon period, this staggeringly groovy instrument is cool beyond measure, and in true cult classic form was built only between 1973 and 1975. Painfully obscure and equipped with a truly magical sound, this Japanese weirdo is the sort of bass you didn't even know you needed! Specced up beautifully as was the way with Yamahas of the period, this SB-75 is a sort of Jazz, albeit a particularly throaty, individual one. Built around that neat-o body, the SB-75 has a bound Ebony fingerboard with a Maple neck and those mega-swish arrow-block inlays. With the neck kept in place by a typically Yamaha 4-bolt neck plate, this tortoiseshell-plate-furnished monster is ready to get right in about it and no mistake. Fitted with a pair of J-style pickups, the SB-75 is controlled by a conventional vol/vol/tone setup, with a proper set of tones ranging from hard funk and big bottom to honking hollowness, and as this is less common than a unicorn you should come and check it out! Now protected by a three year warranty with our endangered techs, this 1975 Yamaha SB-75 is available at Wunjos with a gig bag as standard.
