Electro Harmonix The Green Russian Big Muff Pi (90s) - V7 3rd Edition (Bubble Font)

£359.00 Next Day if ordered before 3pm
Lauded by many as the pedal that started it all and defining the sound of rock guitar for the past 30 years, we’re super-excited to see one of the Big Muff’s Russian predecessors arrive through the doors here at Wunjo!

The Green Russian was one of a few different Muffs made by EHX founder, Mike Matthews, in Russia in the Sovtek-era of his pedal career. These particular Muffs were known for their bass frequencies, which made them a go-to pedal for grunge guitarists in the ‘90s as well as sludge, doom, and stoner rockers in the years since.

Contrary to popular belief, these Russian BMPs were not made with spare tank parts, ammunition boxes or land mines(!). They were made in a former Russian military equipment factory operated by two Russian colonels. Some of the circuit board components may have been stock that was made or purchased during the Cold War era, but that is as close to military parts as it gets.

So it turns out ‘the bomb’ of all pedals may not be bomb-proof, but this doesn’t  stop us loving the huge tone and military stylings of this absolute ‘90s cult-classic.
