S/H 1970 Fender Telecaster Bass, Natural

We love an instrument with a past, and this 1970 Fender Telecaster bass has one. Refinished in orange before being stripped, it has also been routed for an early DiMarzio jazz bass pickup and featuring some mysterious pots.

But you know when something just works? Well this is it. After all that, the bass is gritty, soulful and ready for the backbeat. There is a clarity to the sound but with all thump you'd hope for. The slab body is accompanied by a neck which also has that chunky feel, which really suits the Rotosound flatwounds that it's currently strung with. In short, this bass has anti-hero energy. 

The late-70s iterations of these basses (with the humbucker in the neck position) developed a reputation for being super heavy; but this model comes in under the magic 4kg mark (3.93kg/8.6lbs). 

NOTE: the bass has been fitted with the correct pickguard screws since these photos were taken.

Comes with a non-original hard case and our customary 2-year service and set up warranty.
