S/H 1970s Epiphone MIJ ET-280 Medium Scale Bass Guitar, Red Burst

The 1970s proved to be a very interesting time for instrument manufacture following the boom in solid body, electric guitars and basses in the 50s and 60s, the demand exploded and renowned Japanese factories such a Matsumoku were all over it.

Producing like for like, and notoriously well made copies of brands that had instigated this new global phenomenon. Whilst in doing so, it certainly got some Japanese companies in a bit of legal hot water, Gibson ultimately made the decision to move their Epiphone production out East. If you can't beat them, join them! 

The result was a fantastic range of innovative, affordable guitars and basses including this wonderful ET-280. A medium scale, bolt-on bottle rocket finished in a striking Red Burst. Loaded with two single coil pickups, visually reminiscent of some particular 'staple' pickups from Germany but with a tonal character all of their own. Bright and plucky with plenty of thump. 

It's seen some life, with patina and play wear across it's body but is in lovely playing condition and comes complete with our two year set up and servicing warranty included in the price.
