S/H 1970s Gibson J-50 Deluxe Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar, Natural

The Norlin era was an ambitious and explorative time for Gibson's production, analysing the ever shifting landscape of the market and redesigning old wheels to match new competition. 

The Gibson J-50 debuted as their deluxe sloped shoulder Dreadnought acoustic, but a boom in popularity of the square shoulder, longer scale Martins in the 60s forced Gibson to take a second look at their historic design. Adopting the 25.5" scale length, square shoulder and making adjustments to the internal design: double 'X' bracing and a larger bridge plate to strengthen its structural integrity and ensure that no matter how relentless the tour, this guitar could keep on trucking!

Comprised of the time honoured pairing of solid Spruce top and solid Mahogany back and sides and loaded with a L.R. Baggs M1 Active pickup system, this guitar is read to hit the road once more. It's had a professional bridge replacement done to keep it in fighting fit form and plays and sounds fantastic.
