Shergold became a quintessential British guitar manufacturer throughout the 70s and 80s, after spending years making instruments for UK companies and distributors such as Burns, Rosetti and Barnes and Mullins before the Shergold brand was launched, founders Jack Golder and Norman Houlder had all of the tools necessary to provide the British market with an effective guitar in cost, sound and style.
The Masquerader became synonymous with the rise of Post Punk when it fell into the hands of Bernard Sumner of Joy Division. An affordable but impactful guitar loaded with two powerful, oversized Humbuckers loaded into a slab of lightweight Obeche, a Maple neck with a comfortable 'C' neck profile and its distinctive, squared off headstock.
This particular model has certainly seen some road, with plenty of checking across its Sunburst finish but its cosmetic wear has no impact on its structural integrity and if anything, only adds to it's punk attitude!
It comes complete with our customary two year set up and servicing warranty included in the price.
