Introduced 1970 as the low-end companion to the Guild S-100 after the evident success of Gibson's SG/EB range, the Guild JS II was born!
Produced in Rhode Island, New York, this short scale bass has some really cool and usable features that have stood the test of time. The solid mahogany body with its ergonomic contouring and a really slim taper neck profile is wonderful to play and really well balanced. The pickups produce a lot of power and low end (accentuated by the being currently strung with flatwounds) that is really ramped up when you flick the parallel/series mini switch in the middle position.
There are some signs of play wear: the truss rod cover is missing and the bridge has been realigned, but the bass is fully operational and its age has produced a lovely patina.
