S/H 1991 Gibson ES-295, Bullion Gold

Good as gold! 

The magificent ES-295, originally available as a deluxe version of the well established ES-175 over a short run of 7 years from 1952-1959. Legend has it that it was Les Paul himself that planted the seed for the ES-295 when he requested a custom Gold finish of a ES-175 that he intended to gift to a sick child in hospital, but whilst there's little to corroborate that story, this guitar has no trouble making a statement all by itself!

Finished in a striking Bullion Gold and casting a sharp silhouette with it's 16" lower bout width, and Florentine cutaway across is beautifully arched laminate Maple body, split parallelogram inlays and floral detail on the pickguard, it's no wonder that Gibson decided to reissue this 50s giant in the early 1990s with pinpoint accuracy. Capturing all the dynamism  and playbility we have come to expect from a Gibson guitar operating at this caliber. 

It's had some changes along the way, and addition Bigsby vibrato has been added instead of the traditional trapeze tailpiece, with replacement floating bridge and tuners and the pickups have been upgraded to a pair of beautifully voice Monty's '54 P-90s. 

The thin nitro finish has begun to age beautifully, with signs of checking particularly on the finish to the neck and some light oxidisation. But otherwise the guitar is in wonderful playing condition and sounds every bit as good as it looks. 

It comes fully warranted for two years for all set ups and servicing included in the price.
