S/H 1995 Fender MIJ Jerry Donahue Signature (Signed) Telecaster, Crimson Transparent

Hellecaster! 

The string bending legend that is Jerry Donahue's signature Telecaster from the famed Japanese Fuji-Gen factory of the 90s, and signed by the man himself! 

The idea behind the guitar was to blend the sonic stylings of both a Telecaster and a Stratocaster with just two pickups and a five way switch. And boy does it get there, legend has it that through analysing a great sounding, hand wound neck pickup with the help of his friend, Seymour Duncan, they discovered that a resistor had been incorporated half way through the wind. Giving it a distinctly unique tonality that became integral to Jerry's tone and can now be found in all his signature guitars. The switching configuration goes like this:

• Position 1: Traditional Stratocaster neck position, bright with a focused upper midrange
  
  
• Position 2: The neck pickup with a special capacitor engaged. 
  
  
• Position 3: The neck and bridge pickups in a custom parallel wiring. Engaging a bespoke version of the Telecasters usual middle position
  
  
• Position 4: Combines both pickups with a capacitor and resistor to create a controlled degree of reversed phase. Reminiscent of a Strats 4th position. 
  
  
• Position 5: Bridge pickup on its own, all of that classic 'Tele Twang'
  

It's a truly brilliant and beautifully made guitar, with a soft 'V' neck profile and a binding around its transparent Crimson finish.
