The Martin D-45 holds court as the apex of Martin's custom guitar engineering regularly available today. Originally designed for legendary country crooner, Gene Autry in the 30s, Martin were only able to produce less than 100 instruments before war time shortages took hold and the extravagance of any deluxe model became unfeasible.
Fast forward to the late 60s and the D-45 has been a mainstay in Martin's catalogue to this day and its fair to say they really don't pull any punches in terms of high end appointments! It's rife with Abalone Pearl ornamentation: the top and back binding right around the fingerboard extension, the rosette, the fretboard inlays and vintage style Martin logo, even the tips of the bridge pins! Even down to its brass tacks Martin haven't missed a step, applying a fully bound, Ebony fretboard and the Indian Rosewood veneer of the headstock to match the two-piece Rosewood back and sides. It's Golden Era 'Low Oval' neck profile with a high taper is a joy to work around and the classic Martin designed, forwarded shifted scalloped 'X' brace supporting the solid Spruce Top allows this guitar to really sing.
A feat of engineering and a sight to behold! Kept in wonderful condition by its previous owner and complete with our two year set up and servicing warranty and its OHSC.
